Following the Galactic Empire's attack on Abednedo, the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron undertook a mission to the planet to investigate reports of Imperial holdouts that remained on Abednedo after Operation: Cinder. After meeting with a Verpine smuggler, the squadron attempted to escort the smuggler's 690 light freighter to the New Republic but ended up losing all but one of the Imperial captives when they were engaged by TIE/sa bombers.^[1]
