In 21 BBY[3] during the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic launched a[2] mission to Escander[3] after Jedi General Quinlan Vos reported intelligence about a new battle droid designed for the Confederacy of Independent Systems on the muddy planet Escander. In reality, no such droid existed,[2] and Commander[4] Asajj Ventress intended entrap either Jedi General Anakin Skywalker or Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi within the Separatist base through the fake information, only for Jedi General Aayla Secura and her 327th Star Corps to be deployed instead. After Clone Marshal Commander Bly was injured, another clone trooper took command of the 327th. When Secura was captured by Ventress, the trooper rescued her and escaped with her, both having learned the supposed new droid model did not exist.[2]
