The mission to rescue C-3PO[11] was undertaken during the Galactic Civil War by the rebel astromech droid R2-D2 when he took a lone T-65B X-wing starfighter to rescue his friend, the protocol droid, C-3PO from the Galactic Empire.[8]
Prelude[edit | edit source]
During the siege on Tureen VII, C-3PO was captured by SCAR Squadron.[12] When Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and R2-D2 returned to the rebel fleet, they decided not to attempt a rescue mission because SCAR Squadron was deemed too dangerous. However, R2-D2 disagreed and decided to conduct a rescue mission of his own.[source?]
