Behind the scenes
Monar serpents were mentioned in Millennium Falcon by James Luceno. Their scale shedding was used to describe the Separatist flagship Invisible Hand losing pieces of its hull as it descended through the planet of Coruscant's atmosphere during the Battle of Coruscant, depicted in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Though snakes did exist in the galaxy,[2] there were also creatures that possessed synonymous names that were not snakes.[3]
