- "I need you to oversee the acceptance of a delivery of spice. This is important, because it's being delivered by some Monumenters, and this is the first time we've worked with them."
- ―Jzoro Quanera, to a spacer
The Monumenters were a group of criminals on the planet Corellia at the time of the Galactic Civil War. They were mostly bandits and smugglers.[1]
History[]
After the Battle of Yavin, the Monumenters were in open conflict with the Corellian Security Force and Beldonna's League.[1][3]
In 1 ABY,[4] the Monumenters attempted to create a criminal partnership with the Chirq Council to deal spice on Corellia. They organized a meeting near Doaba Guerfel but a CorSec agent infiltrated in the Chirq Council managed to join the meeting. The CorSec agent attacked and killed the participants, and then stole a cargo of spice. The spacer later returned to the Chirq Council underboss Jzoro Quanera and blamed the Monumenters for killing his men and stealing the spice.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Monumenters are one of many small criminal groups in Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies. They can be found in the wilderness of the planet Corellia where the game's NPC spawning system occasionally creates small groups of Monumenter bandits, marauders and smugglers. By killing them, the player gains faction standing with CorSec and Beldonna's League.[1]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
