Mother Vima was one of three Grizmallt starships that undertook Queen Elsinoré den Tasia's sponsor of the Human colonization of Naboo.

Mother Vima, along with its two sister starshipsConstant and Beneficent Tasia, the latter of which was the supported vessel[1]—was a part of an expedition fleet led by the Republic explorer Kwilaan that in 3951 BBY[2] discovered a star system[3] located in the southern quadrant of the galaxy[1] that became known as the Naboo system,[3] after the Grizmallt deity Nabu.[4]

The fleet was sponsored by Queen Elsinoré den Tasia of Grizmallt, who ushered in a new age of colonization[1] in the dawn of peace and recovery for the galaxy[5] following the end of the Dark Wars and what became known as the Old Sith Wars in 3950 BBY.[3]

Fifty years later, with the blessing of a famous Jedi Master and the august Queen Tasia's final sponsor of colonization efforts, Kwilaan's fleet departed from Grizmallt to colonize planet Naboo in the star system of the same name.[1] Shortly after departure, all three ships lost contact with their homeworld, though it was later discovered that they successfully made it to their destination.[source?]

Behind the scenesEdit

Mother Sunrider

Mother Sunrider only appeared in the French version of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.

In the French edition of the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, the database entry pertaining to the Naboo society called the ship Mother Sunrider rather than Mother Vima.[1]

In Star Wars Legends, Vima Sunrider was a Jedi active around the time of the Great Sith War[6] who took on Meetra Surik as her informal Padawan learner. The year after Mother Vima's fleet found Naboo was also the year the Sith Civil War ended, which allowed for the Galactic Republic to reclaim territories lost to the Sith since the Great Sith War,[3] and the same year Meetra Surik departed for the Unknown Regions in search of Revan.[7]

Vima Sundrider's great-great-great-granddaughter, Vima-Da-Boda, came to guide Leia Organa Solo[8]—daughter of Padmé Amidala,[9] a queen,[10] senator,[11] and daughter of Naboo[10]—in the ways of the Jedi.[12]
