"I thought we ended things on good terms."
"That's what I said. But Riley tells me you send her muckrat skulls."
"Those? Tokens of affection."
―Roonlo and Riley's sibling[src]

Muckrats were a species of rodent that inhabited the galaxy. During the Iron Blockade,[1] the Galactic Empire's attempt to prevent the Anoat sector's populace from learning of the crushing Imperial defeat at the hands of the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the Battle of Endor,[2] the Aqualish Roonlo sent muckrat skulls to the human Riley on a monthly basis. According to Riley, the skulls were a display of his hatred for her, but when Riley's sibling confronted Roonlo, the Aqualish claimed that the skulls were merely tokens of affection.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Muckrats were first mentioned in Star Wars: Uprising,[2] a canon mobile video game developed by Kabam, Disney Interactive, and Lucasfilm for iOS and Android platforms, which was released on September 10, 2015.[3] In the game, muckrats were mentioned in dialogue preceding the Story Mission "Quid Pro Quo,"[4] and they were later mentioned within the Story Mission "End of Muckrat Skulls," in which players sent Riley's sibling on a mission to defeat Roonlo.[1]
