"Food can be found in many places. The most immediate source is from muja fruit bushes."
―Qui-Gon Jinn — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Muja fruit was an edible fruit that grew on trees and bushes. It could be found on many planets of the galaxy. It was reddish-orange in color, about the size of a fist. Notable planets where they thrived included Reytha, Kashyyyk, Naboo, moons of Endor, and Krant. The muja fruit could be made into muja juice and also baked into muja muffin or used as a filling in muja fruit-filled donuts. They were also sold on many planets, including Coruscant. Muja fruit grew on bushes which were harvested by organic and labor droid workers.

History[]

During the Wookiee colonization of the moon Alaris Prime, the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn instructed several workers at a command center how to gather muja fruit and store it in the building, along with other resources. Food processing centers were also used to store muja fruit.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

"Now, to begin gathering food from the muja fruit bush right click on it."
―Qui-Gon Jinn teaching the player to gather food — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Muja fruit first appeared in the 1999 Jedi Apprentice series by Jude Watson.[3] Muja fruit bushes serve as a source of food in the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. In the standard game mode muja fruit bushes are always generated near the player's command center, and serve an identical function to berry bushes from the game Age of Empires II, from which Galactic Battlegrounds reapplied many gameplay elements.[1]
