The Murakam system was a part of the Deep Core.[1] It was home to the plant known as Murakami orchid.[2][3]

The Murakam system was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which placed it in grid square M-11.[1]
