The Muurshantre Extinction was an event that saw the destruction of the document known as the Taurannik Codex,[1] which the death cult Knell of Muspilli from[2] the Unknown Regions[3] location Gunninga Gap transcribed in order to summon apocalyptic deities.[2] By the time of the reign of the Galactic Empire a hundred millennia after the Muurshantre Extinction, scattered scraps of the Taurannik Codex were located among the moon trees that drifted in the interstellar space of the Gunninga Gap.[1]
