"Be careful. The base has a lot of enforcers training around it as well as a possible small Imperial force there."
Captain Quellium, to a spacer[1]

The N.S.H. base was a facility on Talus used by the Nightstrike Soldier Hegemony during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Description[]

"When you reach the base you'll find a training ground area where there is always a contingent of N.S.H. Enforcers in the middle of drills."
Trezya Nenei, to a spacer[1]

The N.S.H. base was the headquarters of the Nightstrike Soldier Hegemony, a Mercenary unit that operated on the Twin World of Talus, in the Corellian system, during the Galactic Civil War. It was located in a region of Talus known as the Ageyn Foothills. The base consisted of a watch tower and an underground bunker within a walled perimeter.[1] In addition to base's staff of N.S.H. personnel, soldiers, torture officers, the base was also guarded by B1-series battle droids and droidekas.[2]

History[]

"I don't know the base layout well except to say that it has multiple floors. There should be a security access computer on the main floor that will not only give you access to the lower levels, but also tell you where Syirlabradawk is."
―Trezya Nenei, to a spacer[1]

After the Battle of Yavin, the Nightstrike Soldier Hegemony was affiliated with the Galactic Empire and directly involved in the fight against the Rebel Alliance and their allies of the Aggregate Civil Liberties Organization.[1] In 1 ABY,[3] N.S.H. troops shut down an A.C.L.O. clinic and imprisoned the Wookiee medical officer Syirlabradawk. They also confiscated a shipment of medical supplies before its delivery to Rebel forces on Talus. Alliance Captain Quellium and the A.C.L.O. representative Trezya Nenei therefore sent a spacer to the N.S.H. base. The spacer assaulted the base and slayed many N.S.H. enforcers in the process.[1] The spacer then found a number of prisoners held and tortured in holding cells within the underground bunker, including the Wookiee Syirlabradawk.[2] The spacer also retrieved the medical supply crates, with the A.C.L.O emblems on the crates hastily covered by the N.S.H. logo.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The N.S.H. base was a location in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] The N.S.H. base was added to the game as part of the "Crisis of Allegiance" arc with the release of "Chapter 2: The Talus Incident," on August 1, 2006.[5]

  3. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
