The NTB-630 naval bomber, also known as the NTB-3 bomber, was utilized by the naval forces of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. A model of bomber produced by the Incom Corporation and Sublights Products Corporation manufacturing companies, it was a cousin in design to the PTB-625 planetary bomber and the lighter Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter, both of which were also constructed by those companies.[1]
At some point during the war,[1] between 22 BBY and 19 BBY,[2] one such NTB-630 naval bomber was piloted by Jedi Master Wom-Nii Gnaden in an engagement in the Crombach Nebula against a Separatist Munificent-class star frigate. However, his bomber crashed into the frigate amid the battle, killing the Jedi and leaving a collision mark on the latter ship's starboard hull that was still visible further into the conflict.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The NTB-630 naval bomber was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Complete Vehicles.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the NTB-630 naval bomber was introduced in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a 2005 reference book authored by Curtis Saxton.[4]
