"Plus the corpse shows the first signs of nagnol poisoning."
"Nagnol?"
"A natural gas capable of disrupting ship sensors and fatal to even Hutts in large doses."
―Ceret and Sskeer[1]

Nagnol was a toxic natural gas. Its properties made it capable of disrupting starship sensors, and in large doses it was fatal to even members of the Hutt species.[1] Nagnol was also a volatile explosive, capable of detonating merely if a canister containing it fell over.[2] During an attack on a Hutt starship in the Kazlin system, Nihil pirates used the gas as a weapon. Later, the Jedi Ceret found signs of nagnol poisoning on the corpse of a Hutt killed in the raid, although the Hutt had also been shot and stabbed repeatedly.[1] When the Hutt's body was later autopsied on the Starlight Beacon, it was discovered that its cause of death was neither nagnol poisoning or the injuries inflicted on it by the Nihil, but an infection by a Drengir root system.[3] Later, during an attempted infiltration of the Nihil's ranks, Jedi Knight Keeve Trennis caused a distraction by using telekinesis to knock over a barrel of nagnol to cause an explosion,[2] after having been told to prove her status as Nihil by killing Myarga Anjiliac Atirue, a Hutt who had formerly allied with the Jedi against the Drengir.[4]
