The Nalmar Family was once the largest criminal organization on Genesia, and controlled much of the illicit activities in Brak sector.
The Nalmar Family originally dealt with smuggled goods, but once Eelien Kirat took over, the family expanded to include extortion and large scale fraud. During the Galactic Civil War, the family was run by Ral Nalmar until he and most of his family were murdered in an attack ordered by Qual'om Soach, the family's chief rival in Brak sector.
One of the family's chief smugglers, Eelien Kirat, tried to preserve the Family by appointing Ral's oldest daughter, Elana Nalmar, as his second-in-command in order to ease tensions over the change in leadership.
