Namadii was an astronomical object[4] located in the Namadii system, a part of the Churnis sector[1] in the New Territories portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] It lay at the endpoint of the hyperlane known as the Namadii Corridor, which connected it to the Ansion system.[2]
The area of space surrounding Namadii was explored between 3000 BBY and 1000 BBY. By the time of the Clone Wars of 22 BBY to 19 BBY, Namadii lay in the territory controlled by the Galactic Republic,[2] and during the first campaigns of that conflict, the Republic's Seventh Sector Army was charged with engaging the military forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in Namadii's vicinity.[3]
The celestial body was situated in territory under the control of the Galactic Empire by 17 BBY and within the borders of the New Republic in 12 ABY.[3] Around 25 ABY, the population of the Namadii system numbered from 1 million to 10 million.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Namadii was introduced via map label in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square I-6.[2] In 2014, Namadii was established as a distinct astronomical object by the Core Rulebook of the Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.[4]
