A nanoforge was a device with a transparent viewing lens-plate marked with a crosshair in the center. The plate sat atop a black body that had an orange power cell and lasing gas bottle at the base. The Jedi-in-training Rey owned a nanoforge that she kept among other equipment on her workbench, which was part of the Resistance base on the moon Ajan Kloss.[1]
She used the equipment on the workbench to flex her mechanical skills, study the Sacred Jedi texts, and repair the Skywalker lightsaber by healing its kyber crystal.[1] In 35 ABY,[2] the nanoforge was located on the workbench behind Rey when she was informed that the YT-1300 light freighter known as the Millennium Falcon had returned to base, and was still there when she later retrieved the[3] Rammahgon[1] text book from a nearby container.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
A nanoforge first appeared in the 2019 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[3] It was first identified in the accompanying reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
