- «Do you know why we are here to kill that Pyke? He ordered the bombing of one of our fight schools. Students. While they slept. Is that honor?»
- ―A Kanji assassin, to Tasu Leech, on Omel Sampak
A fight school used by the group of assassins[1] known as Kanjiklub[2] was located on[1] the Outer Rim world[3] Nar Kanji.[1] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[4] the school was bombed by the Pyke Syndicate criminal organization—a rival of Kanjiklub—on the orders of the gangster Omel Sampak, which resulted in the deaths of a number of the school's students as they slept.[1]
Following the bombing, Sampak hired out the Accretion Disco space station to celebrate his victory. In order to keep him and his entourage alive as they celebrated—knowing that Kanjiklub would seek revenge for the attack—the Pyke hired the bounty hunter T'onga and her crew for the job. After Kanjiklub unsuccessfully attempted to kill Sampak, one of the assassins informed Tasu Leech—a member of T'onga's crew and a native of Nar Kanji—of Sampak's ordering of the bombing of the school, which caused him to kill the Pyke instead.[1]

SWCE 2023: Marvel Reveals Star Wars: Dark Droids Horror Event and More on StarWars.com (backup link) states that the events of Star Wars: Bounty Hunters take place between the events of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which are dated to 3 ABY and 4 ABY, respectively, by Star Wars: Timelines. As Bounty Hunters 27 establishes that the bombing of a Nar Kanji fight school took place shortly before the events of the issue, it must have taken place between the two years.
