Biography[]

Booton Piton

Nardi Shodu walked into the Outlander Club with Booton Piton.

Nardi Shodu was a Rodian female who frequented the Outlander Club,[1] a nightclub and gambling hall in the Uscru Entertainment District of the[2] planet[3] Coruscant.[2] During a night[4] in 22 BBY,[5] Shodu and the Human[4] Booton Piton[6] approached the crash site of the bounty hunter Zam Wesell's[4] Koro-2 all-environment exodrive airspeeder[7] in the Uscru Entertainment District.[4]

Shortly after,[4] she[1] traveled on an errand to the Outlander Club with Piton.[6] Piton and Shodu entered the club arm in arm just in front of the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, who were there to capture Wesell. Shodu and Piton then walked behind a[4] turbolift[3] in the club.[4]

Personality and traits[]

Being a Rodian, her species added to the interplanetary feel of the club that night she visited the club.[8] Shodu had green skin and black eyes.[1] She had a Rodian first name of interchangeable gender that meant "dramatic." Her surname, which could be used as a first name, meant "gracious" in a feminine context, and "vengeful" in a masculine context.[9]

Equipment[]

On the night she visited the Uscru Entertainment District, Shodu wore a black coat, black pants, and black shoes.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

"When this goes on, I'm a totally different person. I'm female."
―The extra playing Shodu talks about their mask[10]

Nardi Shodu first appeared in the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, and in its video game adaptation.[4][11] Both released on May 16, 2002.[12][13] The Outlander Club scenes including Shodu, who was portrayed by an uncredited extra, were shot at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 17, 2000.[14] Like most masked extras playing aliens, the extra playing Shodu was guided around by an extra playing a Human.[6] Prior to the film's release, the character was first pictured in the documentary "A Twinkle Beyond Pluto,"[15] released on July 31, 2001.[16] In the documentary, the extra playing Shodu is briefly spotlighted, and they describe what it's like to be the character, commenting that they are a "totally different person."[15] Shodu was first identified in the 2003 web article "Cantina Roll-Call: Shedding Light on Some Alien Aliases."[17]
