A cave located on the planet Talus was inhabited by the Selonians of the Neetha Den during the Galactic Civil War.
History[]
- "The Askura deal was proposed by a den mate that precipitated the smugglers' exploitation of our den. It allowed a group of our mates to be taken prisoner and held as hostages to get us to mine for the smugglers."
- ―The Neetha den mother, to a spacer
The cave was located near the city of Nashal, on the planet Talus of the Corellian system. During the Galactic Civil War, it was inhabited by the Selonians of the Neetha Den,[1] including the Neetha den mother,[3] the sept Kiki Dorente, advisor to the den mother,[1] Tika Sileste,[4] Ravi Thienta,[5] and Lika Fimente.[6]
The cave was located near the base of the Talusian Smugglers.[7] After the Battle of Yavin, several Selonians of the Neetha Den were captured by the smugglers and kept as hostages in order to force the rest of the den into mining for them.[2] Smuggler guards also occupied the cave in order to watch for the Selonians.[7]
In 1 ABY,[8] the Corellian Security Force was aware of the situation but was unable to intervene in Selonians matters. Agent Taarna thus recruited an independent spacer in order to help the Seloninans without involving the CorSec.[2] The spacer therefore assaulted the smuggler base. Although the spacer eventually discovered that the captive Selonians had already been sold as slaves,[6] the raid severely weakened the smugglers and crippled their ability to exploit the Selonians.[5][3][4]
Behind the scenes[]
The cave of the Neetha Den appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[9] The cave was added to the game with the update named "Chapter 1: The Corellian Captives," published on June 8, 2006.[10]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
