Neo-Imperialism was the radical political doctrine that sought to revive and reinstate the Galactic Empire and its socio-political ideology. It was adopted by the First Order and used by indoctrination programs espoused fanatical Imperial ideals in the First Order and the children of those that served Emperor Sheev Palpatine were rapidly radicalized.[2] Prior to the First Order imposing terror over the galaxy, the conclusion of a campaign that the New Republic waged against the forces of Grand Admiral Thrawn marked a turning point in the power balance between Neo-Imperialism and New Republicanism.[1]

The values of the ideology were based on a fanatical devotion to the totalitarian notions of "order" and violent disdain for the New Republic and democracy.[2]
