"Not much is known of their history on the water-rich planet of Nepotis."
―An artist's journal entry on the Nephran[3]

Nepotis was a water-rich planet[3] located in the regions known as the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square T-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]

Nepotis was the homeworld of the Nephran, a species of sentient crustaceans[3] who spoke the Nepotisian language.[4] The Nephran entrepreneur Therm Scissorpunch,[5] who was active[6] by 10 BBY,[7] hailed from Nepotis.[5] The world was eventually mentioned in an entry of an artist's journal dedicated to the Nephran. The entry noted that very little of the Nephran history on Nepotis was known. The journal was eventually restored, expanded, and displayed at the Graf Archive[3] at some point no earlier than 34 ABY.[8]

Behind the scenes[]

Nepotis was introduced in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Alien Archive by Natalie Clubb and Katrina Pallant.[3]

  7. Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide establishes that the events of Solo: A Star Wars Story that include the appearance of Therm Scissorpunch begin nine years after the formation of the Galactic Empire. Since Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the Empire's foundation to 19 BBY, the events of Solo featuring Scissorpunch can be placed in 10 BBY.
  8. Star Wars: Alien Archive, which is presented as a restored in-universe journal, mentions Poe Dameron's mutiny against Amilyn Holdo, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY, meaning the document must have been published at some point no earlier than that year.
