"It sees."
―Nerrethel's last notes[src]

Nerrethel was a male Sith Lord of the reconstituted Sith Empire.[2] Prior to or during the year 3643 BBY,[1] Nerrethel grew interested in the structure known as the Dark Heart on the planet Voss, and spent two years studying the structure, comparing its architecture to that of the ancient Sith of the planet Korriban and analyzing the Dark Heart's orientation relative to Voss's constellations. However, when he attempted to visit the Dark Heart in person, Nerrethel was found dead on the border of the surrounding region known as the Nightmare Lands. His only notes from the expedition were the words "It sees"—for he had encountered the entity Sel-Makor within the Dark Heart.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Nerrethel was first mentioned in the Codex entry for the Dark Heart in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game released by BioWare in 2011. His species was not specified.

Additionally, Nerrethel spent two years studying the Dark Heart, so he must have begun studying it in 3643 BBY at the latest.
