The Neti were a mythical sentient species that appeared similar to trees. A number of Neti supposedly resided on the forest moon of the planet Ossus. According to the Qel-Droma Epics, T'alla was a Neti Jedi Master who constructed the Gardens of T'alla within the Great Jedi Library on Ossus, subsequently planting herself in the center and transforming into a tree.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Neti were first canonically mentioned in the Nexus of Power, the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars: Force and Destiny sourcebook.[1] The Neti shared their name with the uneti tree, first identified in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, written by Pablo Hidalgo and published by DK Publishing[2] on December 15, 2017.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Neti were a species of shapeshifting sentient plants created by the author Tom Veitch and artist Chris Gossett for the character Ood Bnar[4] and first appeared in the comic Tales of the Jedi 5: The Saga of Nomi Sunrider, Part 3, published by Dark Horse Comics[5] on February 1, 1994.[6]
