This article is about Maul's Gauntlet starfighter. You may be looking for the Nightbrothers, a tribal group of Dathomirian Zabrak males.

The Nightbrother was a modified Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, named and used by the former Sith Lord Maul during the Clone Wars and the Imperial Era. Following Maul's death at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2 BBY, the Nightbrother was acquired by the Spectres rebel cell, where it was simply called the Gauntlet.

The Nightbrother was a customized Kom'rk-class fighter/transport[3] of the Kryze Gauntlet ship variant.[4] Customized with a black and red color scheme, the starfighter featured rotating wings, a large hull, and was armed with two forward and two rear laser cannons.[3]

As the leader of the Death Watch and the rest of the Shadow Collective, Maul used the Nightbrother as his flagship and commanded his forces in the battles during the Confederacy of Independent Systems' campaign against the Shadow Collective.[6]

Many years later during the reign of the Galactic Empire, the starfighter was still in Maul's service. Maul used the Nightbrother to flee Vizsla Keep 09 after the Spectres managed to free themselves. While the holocron ritual with Ezra Bridger was interrupted, Maul learned that his old enemy Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi still lived.[7] Maul later used the Nightbrother to travel with Ezra to Dathomir. After summoning the spirits of fallen Nightsisters, Maul learned that Kenobi was hiding on a planet with twin suns.[14]

Maul notably used his Gauntlet fighter to go to the desert planet Tatooine, to find and kill his old adversary Master Kenobi,[12] in the year 2 BBY. Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger also went to Tatooine to stop Maul. After Maul's death, he and the C1-series astromech droid Chopper used the ship to get back home to Chopper Base of the Phoenix Cell.[12] Bridger later used the Nightbrother to get the help of Clan Wren for the Rebels stuck on Atollon during their battle against Grand Admiral Thrawn's Imperial forces.[11]

In 1 BBY, Ezra along with Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren, and Chopper traveled on the Gauntlet to Yavin 4, the headquarters of the Rebel Alliance.[13]
