The Nightlands were a location. The Twi'lek Lourna Dee, a Tempest Runner of the Nihil pirates, disparaged Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro by saying that he should be damned to the Nightlands.

Behind the scenes

The Nightlands were first canonically mentioned in the 2022 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, written by Cavan Scott for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Nightlands were the night side of the tidally-locked Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth, and first appeared in the 1997 junior novel Young Jedi Knights: Jedi Bounty, written by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta for the Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights series. Ryloth in canon, as first depicted in the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is not tidally locked.
