The Norriker was an old Dynamic-class freighter owned by a Gharal family from the planet Langston, who used it to haul ores. After the older members of the family were killed during a Separatist attack there early in the Clone Wars, Rokura, the eldest of the surviving generation of the family, loaned the starship to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Initiate Mill Alibeth so they could travel covertly to Cato Neimoidia, in exchange for supplies.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Norriker debuted in Mike Chen's 2022 novel Brotherhood.[1] While writing the book, Chen struggled to create enough proper names for new elements of Star Wars, and so turned to fellow author Peng Shepherd for assistance. Shepherd in turn devised a list of various naming ideas, from which the term "Norriker" originated.[2]
