The NovaSword was an expensive model of starfighter used by some ace pilots serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

NovaSwords were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[1]

They were originally created for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the vessels were first indirectly mentioned in the 2004 comic book Obsession 2,[2] before appearing for the first time in the 2005 comic book Obsession 3, both of which were written by W. Haden Blackman and illustrated by Brian Ching.[3] The vessel first received its name in Legends in The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide, a 2008 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game produced by Wizards of the Coast.[4]
