Novel Approach is an article by Rich Handley that appeared in the sixty-sixth issue of Star Wars Insider magazine, released in March 2003. It details the genesis of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, from 1991's Heir to the Empire up to The New Jedi Order. Most of the article is dedicated to the development of The New Jedi Order under Lucasfilm Ltd. and Del Rey, and includes quotes from Sue Rostoni, Lucy Autrey Wilson, Shelly Shapiro, and Randy Stradley.
