The Novi system was located in the Interior Region, an area of the Hapes Cluster in the Slice portion of the Inner Rim. It was connected via hyperlanes to the Farnica and Gallinore systems.[1] The Novi system was the origin point of the gemstones known as Novian rubies.[2][3]

The Novi system was introduced in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square O-9.[1]
