"I'm not one of these losers gonna let you float until they forget how much you owe them."
―Nurchi to Cassian Andor[2]

Nurchi was a human junk dealer and freelance picker that lived on the planet Ferrix during the reign of the Galactic Empire. In 5 BBY, hoping to collect the money that Cassian Andor owed him, he enlisted the help of Vetch to intimidate Andor. However, his attempt was unsuccessful.[2] During an uprising on Ferrix, Nurchi told Imperials of Andor's arrival on the planet. While waiting in the hotel for the outcome, Nurchi was subsequently killed by a bomb thrown by Wilmon Paak.[4]

Biography[]

Encounter with Andor[]

"What, not happy to see me? What, no love for Nurchi?"
"No, I'm late, okay?"
"I know. I want my deposit back."
―Nurchi and Cassian Andor[2]
Andor Season One Episode 1

Nurchi confronts Andor and asks for credits

Nurchi was a human male[2] freelance picker[5] who lived on Ferrix, a planet in the Morlani system, during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[2] While sitting on a chair[6] in front of a screen store, Nurchi noticed Cassian Andor walking by and aggressively stopped him. While Andor insisted he had somewhere to be, Nurchi demanded he received his deposit[2] for parts that Andor owed him.[7] To further force Andor to pay, Nurchi asked the Urodel Vetch to stand intimidatingly behind Andor, to which he asked Vetch questions before leaving him and Nurchi.[2] Later that day, Nurchi sat on his chair and counted the credits he received.[8]

Empire Occupation[]

"You found him?"
"I want twice as much and a ride out of here when it's over."
―Corv and Nurchi, on Cassian Andor[4]

After Preox-Morlana corporates caused a ruckus on Ferrix while hunting for Andor,[9] the Galactic Empire assumed power over the Morlani system, which included Ferrix.[10] Wanting to contact Luthen Rael about the occupation, Bix Caleen contacted him through the Repaak Salyard, however Rael declined the call. The call was noticed by the Empire, and later went to the Salyard to detain Salman Paak. After hearing banging from Ferrixians, Caleen went to investigate the problem, only to find Nurchi and ask him what was going on. Nurchi was unaware of what was happening before leaving the premise.[11]

Nurchi tells Corv about Andor's whereabouts

Later one night, Xanwan informed Brasso about a call he had with Andor. As the two walked, Nurchi eavesdropped on their conversation while talking to an individual. Xanwan and Nurchi later shared drinks together[4] in a tavern[12] and discussed the upcoming funeral for Maarva, Andor's mother, who had recently passed. During the day of Maarva's funeral, Pegla, a companion of Andor, secretly hid him in one of the upper stories of a building. As Pegla exited the building, Nurchi noticed this and rushed to Corv, an attendant to an Imperial Security Bureau officer, to inform him that Andor was hiding in the building. Nurchi demanded double the reward for finding him and a ride off Ferrix. As Corv asked where Andor was, Nurchi told Corv to pretend he was arresting him so they could talk in the Hotel Rix, a hotel on Ferrix taken over by the Empire.[4]

Death[]

As Nurchi awaited payment in the hotel while Corv and other Empire personnel checked the building, Maarva's funeral transpired, which eventually led to a riot. As Nurchi watched the riot from the hotel windows, Wilmon Paak,[4] who was saddened by his father's death,[13] tossed a pipe bomb[12] across Rix Road, which led to an explosion that blew Nurchi away from the window, killing him. As Andor rescued Caleen from Imperial custody, he noticed the body of Nurchi laying on the ground.[4]
