During the later period of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi flew an Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor. Kenobi piloted the interceptor during a mission to rescue Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine during the Battle of Coruscant. The starfighter was destroyed aboard the Separatist flagship Invisible Hand.[3]

History[]

Destruction of the Separatist supply storage base[]

When the Jedi Order received a tip about the location of a Separatist supply storage base in the interior of an asteroid, Kenobi and Master Quinlan Vos requested for Skywalker and another Jedi Knight named Akar-Deshu to accompany them in seizing the base and its supplies. The four Jedi flew to the base in their Eta-2's and engaged six vulture droids defending it. Kenobi, Skywalker and Vos landed their starfighters at the base, while Desh returned to their Arquitens-class light cruiser to bring reinforcements.[10]

Destruction of the Vanqor listening station[]

After their failure to extract the supplies at the storage base, the Jedi High Council sent Vos, accompanied by Kenobi and Skywalker, to lead an operation to destroy a Separatist listening post on the planet Vanqor. The three flew in their Eta-2s, alongside twenty-four Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighters. Upon arriving at the facility, they discovered it to be abandoned, as Count Dooku had evacuated all personnel before they had arrived. Unbeknownst to the Jedi, Vos had leaked information about the operation to Dooku, as part of his plan to work as a double agent in order to reach Darth Sidious and destroy the Sith once and for all.[10]

Battle of Coruscant[]

Kenobi's Eta-2 severely damaged by buzz droids in the Battle of Coruscant.

After Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine had been kidnapped during the Battle of Coruscant, Kenobi flew in his Eta-2 to rescue him, alongside Skywalker who flew in his own Eta-2. During the battle, a vulture droid fired four discord missiles at Kenobi and Skywalker. While Skywalker was able to destroy the missiles tailing him, the missiles tailing Kenobi released a swarm of Pistoeka sabotage droids that latched onto his ship. They quickly began shutting down the ship's systems and ripped his astromech droid R4-P17's dome off, effectively destroying her. Skywalker attempted to shoot the droids off Kenobi's starfighter, but ended up blowing off his port-side s-foil, much to Kenobi's displeasure. Skywalker then tried ramming into him to destroy the remaining droids and succeeded, save for one which crawled onto his own starfighter. R2-D2 would electrocute the last droid. The pair then crash-landed in the Invisible Hand's hangar bay. The starfighter was destroyed when the Invisible Hand's aft section, containing the hangar, broke off from the front upon entry into Coruscant's atmosphere due to the damage it had sustained in the battle.[3]

Kenobi would replace his fallen starfighter with a new blue Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, and would receive a new astromech droid, R4-G9.[3]

Crew[]

The starfighter was piloted by Obi-Wan Kenobi, who also functioned as its captain. Kenobi's astromech droid R4-P17 functioned as the ship's navigator and repairer should it get damaged in combat.[3]
