This starfighter was a prototype used by the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi during the final days of the Separatist Crisis.

The fighter included a fight mode feature which enabled its pilot to eject the outer hull of the fighter's nose, exposing a vast array of weapons.[1]
These modifications included 10 laser cannons, two missile launchers and S-foils. With these upgrades, the pilot could turn the tide of the space battle. Obi-Wan Kenobi regarded this ship as being "full of surprises."[1]

Obi-Wan Kenobi most notably used this starfighter while on a mission to deliver a message of the Jedi Council from Coruscant to Albecus. During his journey, Kenobi was pursued by the Slave I, piloted by the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Fett's deadly maneuvers forced Kenobi to convert his ship into fight mode. With the overwhelming firepower of his starfighter, Kenobi forced Fett to retreat, and was able to safely carry out the rest of his mission.[1]
