Obsidian Entertainment is an entertainment software developing company initially based in Santa Ana, California that later moved to Irvine, California. It was founded in 2003 by Feargus Urquhart, Chris Parker, Chris Avellone, Chris Jones, and Darren Monahan. Obsidian was the developer for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Obsidian was founded by former employees of Black Isle Studios, which created Fallout, Fallout 2, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale. Other notable games by Obsidian include: Alpha Protocol (2010), The Outer Worlds (2019), Dungeon Siege III (2011) and their most popular game Fallout: New Vegas (2010).
