After the Clone Wars and the fall of the Techno Union,[2] the Galactic Empire occupied the planet of Skako Minor,[1] which had served as the Union's headquarters.[4] The Union's Foreman Wat Tambor had been killed by the Sith Lord Darth Vader during the mission to Mustafar as well, with Vader then being dispatched to Skako Minor to wipe out Tambor's remaining supporters and establish a pro-Imperial regime.[3] The Skakoans were left to live under the rule of the Imperial Military in rubble of their civilization.[1]
Hallio Bas became an Imperial collaborator with the hope his actions would one day lead to the end of the occupation, making deals with the Imperial Military that if he brought looters into their grasp they would eventually free the planet. Nonetheless, the Empire did not keep its word and remained, with Bas's final deception coming when he lured a Son-tuul Pride team into an Imperial trap. Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra used an engineered Tooka named Flufto to kill Bas and[1] most of the Imperial detachment[5] he had led them towards.[1] Later, Tambor's grandson Jul attempted to liberate the planet and established a blockade.[3]
