The Open were a faction of humans that lived on the planet Carnelion IV. They were at war with the Closed, a rival faction.[3] In 29 BBY,[4] the Open came in contact with the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker when they came to Carnelion IV to investigate a distress signal they had received.[3]
