Operation: Clean Sweep was a campaign fought by the ruling Galactic Empire against the rebellious forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic in the Outer Rim Territories during the Galactic Civil War. The engagements involved both Imperial assaults and Rebel counterstrikes, ranging from convoy strikes to frantic defense missions.[1]
Battles[]
Dreadnaught Warlover Attacks Rebel Cargo Operation[]
TRN group Val was delivering supply containers to Rebel Alliance CRS Valorous in the Esyram system when it was attacked by the Imperial Dreadnaught Warlover and its starfighter complement.[1]
Raid on Goibniu Platform[]
Rebel starfighters attacked the Imperial supply depot in the Goibniu system and attempted to steal some Class-E Cargo Containers with bacta by means of six Heavy Lifters of HLF group SFNGR.[1]
Raid on Rebel Factory Koensayr 42[]
Imperial strike forces attacked Rebel Factory Koensayr 42 as ESC Eleusis was taking on a squadron of newly produced Y-wings. During the battle, Imperial commandos tried to infiltrate the factory and plant a computer virus that would crash the remote-controlled Y-wings into the Eleusis instead of docking them.[1]
Attack on Imperial-class Star Destroyer Tormentor[]
HLF group Bellboy was retrieving supplies delivered by four ships of FRT group Monru for Imperial-class Star Destroyer Tormentor near Udnil II when Rebel starfighters attacked.[1]
Ambush of Rebel Leader at Airam Platform[]
The Rebel CRV Intrepid must flee from neutral PLT/1 Airam under starfighter cover to evade a capture attempt by Imperial Gunboats and Assault Transports.[1]
Raid on Imperial Convoy near Atterol[]
Rebel fighters raided a convoy consisting of FRG Tegret and three ships of CNVYR group Xibo near the Atterol system.[1]
Frigate Duel: Malevolent vs. Endeavor[]
In an evenly matched fight, Imperial FRG Malevolent squared off against Rebel FRG Endeavor.[1]
Attack on Victory-class Star Destroyer Formidable[]
The Victory-class Star Destroyer Formidable was found to block a vital location in the Dellalt system where a Rebel supply convoy was expected to pass in the near future. The Rebels launched a heavy starfighter attack against the Formidable, but Imperial FRG Fury joined the fray.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- "Emperor Palpatine has decreed that all Rebel insurgents meet the firm hand of Imperial justice. To reach this objective, military forces of the Imperial Navy are to conduct a search-and-destroy campaign to wipe out all Rebel strongholds."
- ―In-game Battle description
Operation: Clean Sweep is a "Battle" in the Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter computer game, i.e. a set of eight different missions grouped together without forming a coherent campaign. Battles do not follow a storyline and the missions have no clear chronological order.[1]
Although the occurrence of the individual missions can be considered canonical, the outcome depends on the player's actions. Therefore, the actual canonical outcome of each mission is unclear. It is safe to assume that no side achieved a lasting effect (such as the destruction of a starship) over the course of the battle.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power Campaigns
- ↑ The game Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and its expansion Balance of Power Campaigns do not provide any information about their timeline other than it takes place during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance (2 BBY ― 4 ABY). Nevertheless, some clues permit to place the game and its expansion around 3 ABY. X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter shows the Empire making extensive use of TIE/ad starfighters. The previous game of the series, Star Wars: TIE Fighter, established that the TIE/ad starfighter was introduced during the Sepan campaign (which is set in 3 ABY per the reasoning here). We can conclude that the game is set between 3 ABY and 4 ABY. Moreover, the most advanced Imperial starfighters from Star Wars: TIE Fighter (the TIE/d "Defender" starfighter and the Missile Boat) were not present in X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, suggesting that the game takes place before their introduction, also dated to 3 ABY as the entire TIE Fighter game is set in 3 ABY (per the reasoning here).
