"It seems that at least two sizeable battlegroups made a push for Coruscant in the apparent hope of seizing it and ruling the galaxy from the Empire's former seat of power. It appears that the forces sent to achieve that were defeated, but there is still a good deal of confusion regarding recent events at the end of the war."
―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[2]

An Operation on Coruscant was planned by the First Order during the First Order-Resistance War. In addition to its goals of destroying the remains of the Jedi Order, the First Order was focused on legitimizing its rule of the galaxy by conquering the Galactic Empire's former seat of power. To do so, it deployed at least two large battle groups towards Coruscant, but First Order forces were defeated. Resistance member and historian Beaumont Kin noted that there remained an abundance of confusion surrounding the events at the end of the war.[2] During the galactic uprising against the First Order, an uprising occurred on Coruscant.[4]
