The Oplovis system was located in the Oplovis sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It contained the world Oplovis,[3] where the Human male Gaen Drommel was born[4] in 48 BBY.[5]

Drommel went on to become an admiral in the Galactic Empire's navy.[4] When he was assigned the command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Guardian during the Galactic Civil War, Drommel dispatched his executive officer, Gastos Niovi, to personally pick up Oplovis linens from the admiral's homeworld for the latter's new quarters aboard the Guardian. After the death of Galactic Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor[3] in 4 ABY, Drommel established his own personal domain in the Oplovis sector,[2] based in the space surrounding Oplovis.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The Oplovis system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square M-5.[2]

  5. Wanted by Cracken, which establishes Gaen Drommel's age as 55, is dated to three years after the Battle of Endor. Since The New Essential Chronology dates that conflict to 4 ABY, the placement of the sourcebook therefore translates to 7 ABY, and Drommel's birth to 48 BBY.
