An ora was a type of gemstone found on the[1] Mid Rim planet[2] Bothawui. The Bothans,[1] a sentient species native to Bothawui,[3] used "Ora" as a first name for some members of the female sex.[1]
Behind the scenes
The ora gemstones were first mentioned in the Galactic Campaign Guide, a 2003 sourcebook for Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game, written by Peter Schweighofer and J.D. Wiker. They were only described in a table of Bothan female names.[1]
