"So, are you coming home any time soon, Lina?"
"Home? Since when has Orchis been home,
Milo?"
―Milo Graf to Lina Graf[3]

Orchis 2 was a terrestrial moon. The Graf Archive, a depository of records and artifacts, was located on the moon. The moon was home to the Graf family but was later occupied by the Galactic Empire. When the Empire left, the Graf Archive was damaged. Milo Graf tried to restore the Archive with the droid CR-8R before being betrayed and electrocuted by the droid.

Description[]

Orchis 2 was a terrestrial[1] moon home to the Graf Archive, an immense depository of records and artifacts overseen by Director Amel Fortoon.[2] The historian Eloc Throno studied cartography under Director Fortoon on Orchis 2.[1]

History[]

"Well, it may not have been our home growing up, but it was home to our family for centuries."
―Milo Graf to Lina Grace[3]

For centuries, Orchis 2 was home to the Graf family. The Galactic Empire later took control of the moon and used the Graf Archive as a library. When the Empire left Orchis 2, they damaged several databanks and destroyed texts.[3] Around 4 ABY,[4] the human male Milo Graf went on the moon along with the droid CR-8R. Milo contacted his sister Lina Graf, and they discussed the state of the library. Milo told her about what the Empire left behind, including diagrams of Fortress Vader, the castle of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. When Lina interrupted the transmission, CR-8R electrocuted Milo, claiming to be following the orders of his Dark Lord.[3]

The historian Eloc Throno studied cartography under Director Fortoon on Orchis 2.[1] The moon was later mentioned in an artist's journal, which was restored, expanded, and displayed in the archive[5] at some point after 34 ABY.[6] Long after 34 ABY, the Graf Archive covered most of the moon's surface.[2] It shared its name with the Inner Rim planet Orchis.[1]

  4. Star Wars Adventures: Ghosts of Vader's Castle is set after the events of Star Wars Adventures: Shadow of Vader's Castle, which takes place after the Battle of Endor, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY. Therefore, Star Wars Adventures: Ghosts of Vader's Castle must take place around that year.
  5. Star Wars: Alien Archive
  6. Star Wars: Alien Archive establishes that the restored in-universe journal discusses Poe Dameron's mutiny against Amilyn Holdo, which is depicted in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. The Star Wars Book places the events of The Last Jedi in the same year as the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY, meaning the document must have been published after that year.
