"There's civil war on Ord Mantell. It's a no-fly zone. Dock at the orbital station there and contact me."
―General Var Suthra sends a Jedi Knight to the station[4]

The Ord Mantell Orbital Station was a space station that orbited the planet Ord Mantell during the Cold War and the subsequent Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. Located in the Bright Jewel system of the Bright Jewel Cluster in the Mid Rim, the station served as a way-station for passing starships. Travelers who wished to visit the surface of the war-torn word had to land aboard the station and take a shuttle down to the planet.

History[]

Ferav and Kira

Ferav holds Carsen hostage.

In 3643 BBY, an unknown Jedi Knight arrived on the station and traveled to the planet's surface with the droid T7-O1, leaving the Knight's Padawan Kira Carsen aboard the station to get the lay of the land. However, Sith spies aboard noticed her presence and contacted the Sith Lord Darth Angral, who arrived with General Hacklin and Inquisitor Ferav. Ferav and Angral interrogated Carsen on the Knight's location, but she convinced them that her master was heading to Corellia. Angral and Hacklin departed the station, leaving Ferav behind with the Padawan. When the Knight and T7 returned to the station, the Jedi and the droid were forced to rescue Kira from Ferav, killing the Sith in the progress.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The Ord Mantell Orbital Station was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. It serves as the spaceport for the Republic-only planet of Ord Mantell, and can only be accessed by Republic players with their own ship. Players then can take a shuttle down to the planet's surface.[2] In the Jedi Knight class storyline, the player is forced to duel Inquisitor Ferav upon returning to the station before they can depart.[3]
