"Ord Tiddell is the largest casualty in a bizarre series of stone mites infestations spreading throughout the Colonies and Mid Rim. Worlds as spread apart as Havricus, Sermeria, Tynna, Nar Bo Sholla and Deylerax have reported damage from stone mites, though nothing on Ord Tiddell's scale."
―HoloNet News report[4]

Ord Tiddell was a Mid Rim planet located in the Tennuutta sector. Having served as a Galactic Republic Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost during the Pius Dea Era, in 22 BBY it fell victim to a galaxy-wide infestation of stone mites. The silicate-and-metal-eating arthropods caused the ruination of Ord Tiddell's capital, Lagabee, and the world's population subsequently underwent a mass exodus.

Description[]

Ord Tiddell was a terrestrial planet[4] located in the Ord Tiddell system, a part of the Tennuutta sector[1] in the Trans-Hydian portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1]

History[]

"The state capital of Ord Tiddell now lies in ruins, its foundation having been repeatedly perforated by the voracious appetites of thousands of stone mites. Much of Ord Tiddell's capital city of Lagabee has been abandoned, and the planet's population of four million is in the midst of a mass exodus."

Ord Tiddell served as a Galactic Republic Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost during the Pius Dea Era.

Ord Tiddell served as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic during the Pius Dea Era, a period of time that lasted between approximately 12,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY. During that time, the world was located just outside the Republic's borders.[5]

In 22 BBY,[6] Ord Tiddell became one of the several worlds of the galaxy that experienced an infestation of stone mitesarthropods feeding on silicates and complex metals. Thousands of the ravenous creatures perforated the foundation of the planet's state capital, Lagabee, with much of the ruined city subsequently becoming abandoned, and the world's population, which numbered four million, underwent a mass exodus.[4]

Ord Tiddell was by far the most affected world of the stone mites' galactic infestation, losing billions of credits in capital assets and business revenue. The Judical Department of the Republic and the Jedi Order both carried out investigations on the disaster, and at least one Klatooinian rescue worker was present at a demolished site on the planet. On the date 13:5:9, the infestation on Ord Tiddell was reported in an issue of the CoCo District Edition of the HoloNet News.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Ord Tiddell was first featured in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #55, an in-universe issue of the HoloNet News[4] written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens, illustrated by Joe Corroney,[7] and published on the HoloNet News website on May 9, 2002.[8] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ord Tiddell system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square Q-7.[3]
