Warning: This infobox is missing the following parameters: otherlife Orinda was a small Mid Rim planet in the Irishi sector. It was located along the Entralla Route and on the border of the Mid Rim and the Outer Rim Territories.

History

After the Battle of Endor, Orinda was part of Imperial Space until 9 ABY. Following the loss of Coruscant and Ysanne Isard's retreat to Thyferra, Ars Dangor and the Imperial Ruling Council relocated to Orinda, making it the new capital of the Empire.[4]

The planet was conquered by the New Republic in the immediate aftermath of the Thrawn campaign. After that, Orinda became a strategic world because it was located on an important hyperlane and on the border of Imperial and New Republic spaces.[3]

Orinda was re-captured by Grand Moff Ardus Kaine and Pentastar Alignment forces in the pre–Shadow Hand campaign, the Reborn Emperor Palpatine's campaign to reconquer the Core Worlds. The Empire lost Orinda again during the collapse of Carnor Jax's Crimson Empire.[3]

Orinda was retaken by Fleet Admiral Gilad Pellaeon in 12 ABY, and defended during a great battle including two Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts.[3] After the victory, the planet became the temporary headquarters of Admiral Pellaeon.[5] The New Republic chose to leave Orinda in Imperial hands and instead fortified surrounding systems.[6] The same year, Imperial forces gathered on Orinda in preparation of the Imperial invasion of Dathomir.[7] Orinda was later the site of a battle between the Remnant and the Restored Empire faction.[5] The planet reintegrated with the New Republic after Pellaeon's defeat during the Imperial Skirmishes in 17 ABY.[3]

The planet was attacked and occupied by the Yuuzhan Vong during their initial assault on the Mid Rim. The planet remained under Vong control for most of the war. Imperial forces later routed the alien invaders in the system after a failed Vong assault on Imperial space.[3]

Orinda remained under Imperial control following the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong.[3]
