Outpost GRF-7493 was a small Imperial garrison on Yavin 4.

History

The outpost was promptly constructed during the Empire Day festivities of 1 ABY. It was during this particular Empire Day that the outpost was inhabited by an Imperial commander, Darth Vader and a number of other Imperial soldiers. An imprisoned Jedi was held there for interrogation, and presumably execution.

Following Empire Day, Vader left the outpost to pursue other matters. The outpost remained as a minor Imperial foothold on the world, but went mostly unused. Nonetheless, an Imperial recruiter, a number of Novatroopers and several All Terrain Scout Transports still patrolled the facility.

Behind the scenes

Outpost GRF-7493 was a location in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. Outpost GRF-7493 was added to the game upon the release of the "Publish 19," on June 29, 2005. During the 2005 Empire Day live event from June 29 to July 11, 2005, Imperial players had to go this location to complete a quest titled "Happy Empire Day!." After the live event ended, the outpost remained, but served no real purpose since the Empire Day event was discontinued until its complete overhaul in 2008.
