Ozu was a terrestrial world located in the Ozu system, a part of the Anoat sector. It was situated in the Greater Javin region within the Western Reaches portion of the Outer Rim Territories. The world lay on the super-hyperroute known as the Corellian Trade Spine, which connected it to the Isde Naha and Orn Kios systems of the neighboring Yarith sector.[1] Ozu was a quiet world of sustenance farmers[2] living on small farms.[1] It was rarely visited by offworlders. A small[2] starship[1] fuel station was situated atop a mountain on Ozu. It was the most frequent reason for visits to the world by spacers.[2]

After the Galactic Republic's victory in a war against the nearby civilization of the Mugaari species[2] at some point between approximately 1000 BBY and 600 BBY,[4] the former established the Javin sector in the former Mugaari Space.[2] Around 400 BBY,[3] the portion of the sector containing Ozu was re-designated as the Anoat sector.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Ozu was introduced in Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game supplement "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," which was published on Wizards.com on March 25, 2004.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the world in grid square K-18.[1]

Since the supplement dates Figg's death to "nearly four centuries" prior to its setting, the establishment of the Anoat sector can be placed in approximately 400 BBY.

This establishes an approximate time frame of 1000 BBY600 BBY for the war.
