Pain-relieving gas was a type of anesthesia applied via a non-rebreather mask. It was used within the scope of practice of Imperial medics assigned to the Galactic Empire's 224th Imperial Armored Division on the Expansion Region planet Mimban. During the Mimban campaign between the 224th Armored Division and the Mimbanese Liberation Army in 10 BBY, Specialist Gillen Finders prepared a canister of pain-relieving gas to apply to Corporal Chakobi Sanwright when the latter suffered a concussion during an attack by Mimbanese guerillas.
