"Does your mother share his views?"
"Only because she espouses no views of her own; only because he has made her subservient to him as he has my well-behaved brothers and sisters, who treat me like an interloper, and yet, to my father, represent all I can never be."
Hego Damask and Palpatine[1]

This woman was the matriarch of House Palpatine, one of Naboo's noble families. She was the wife of Cosinga Palpatine and mother to at least three sons and two daughters. According to her eldest son, she was weak-willed, often acting subservient to her husband.[1]

In 65 BBY, she, his husband and all her family was slained by her eldest son, Palpatine, after Cosinga Palpatine separated his eldest son from Hego Damask, Palpatine later claimed his family's riches and name and continued his friendship—which turned to a Master and apprentice relationship—Palpatine ultimately became Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic in 32 BBY, proving his family's statements on him wrong.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Palpatine's mother appeared in the 2012 novel Darth Plagueis by author James Luceno.[1]
