Plot summary[]
After Matt Turhaya loses to Tere Metallo in a sabacc game in Mos Eisley, he becomes the co-pilot of the Star Quest.

The placement of this tale was left ambiguous on Charlene Newcomb's original timeline; however, Alex Winger's age at the time of her adoption[3][4] suggests that this tale takes place in 3 or 2 BBY. Though existence of the Alliance to Restore the Republic may seem to indicate 2 BBY, The Essential Reader's Companion places it in 3 BBY.
