Peet Janes was an editor at Dark Horse Comics and the main editor of Dark Horse's Star Wars line from the mid-'90s to 2001.

Janes was in charge of numerous titles as the Dark Horse line expanded and flourished, such as X-Wing: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars Droids, Classic Star Wars, Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures, Star Wars: Mara Jade – By the Emperor's Hand, Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire, Star Wars: Vader's Quest, The Jabba Tape, Shadow Stalker, The Bounty Hunters: Aurra Sing, The Bounty Hunters: Kenix Kil, Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction, Star Wars: Union, Star Wars: Chewbacca, and Star Wars: Republic. He was also the first editor of the Star Wars Tales anthology series, as well as the writer of Dark Horse's Star Wars Handbook, a series of encyclopedic guides to the existing Dark Horse Star Wars titles.

Editor through the release of the film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Janes oversaw the transition from post–original trilogy/Expanded Universe–inspired content to the prequel-influenced content at Dark Horse. He edited the Episode I spin-off comics Episode I: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Episode I: Queen Amidala, and Episode I: Qui-Gon Jinn.

In addition, Janes worked on Dark Horse's first comics adaptation of Star Wars novels, including The Last Command (co-edited with Bob Cooper), Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Lucas Licensing's first cross-media Star Wars comics/novel/video-game event.

He was preceded by editor Bob Cooper and succeeded by Dave Land.
