"War is a vile thing, and it brings out the worst in beings. But it also brings out their best—courage, sacrifice, resourcefulness, tenacity, comradeship, genius, even humor. Would that we could achieve that enlightened state without shedding blood first."
―Peet Sieben[1]

Mentor Peet Sieben was a philosopher who lived during the Clone Wars[1] in 22 BBY.[2] Sieben was a member of the Jal Shey, an ancient order of the Force-sensitive dedicated to studying the Force as a solely intellectual endeavor. Sieben believed that war was a terrible thing but acknowledged that it brought out great qualities in people. However, Sieben wished conflict did not have to be such a critical catalyst for those traits to emerge.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Sieben was mentioned in Karen Traviss's novelization of the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars film.[1]
